Doorbell Gen5 is not weatherproofed nor suitable for outdoor. Do not use in damp, moist, and / or wet locations. Doorbell Gen5 is constructed with nylon; keep away from heat and do not expose to flame.
Wireless Button of Doorbell Gen5 offers IP54 water protection and is suitable for outdoor use without direct exposure to heavy and penetrative rain.

Quick start.
Before installing the wireless button, be sure to know the general tips for installing the wireless button to ensure its full range.
Do not install the Wireless button where these types of objects or items can be in between Doorbell and Wireless button.
Metal walls (These walls will shield the 433MHz wireless signal, this includes aluminum, steel, tungsten, iron, etc)
Large metallic objects (ie. refrigerator)
Cement Walls
Installation for the Wireless Button.
1. Open the Battery cover and put the CR2450 battery into Wireless Button.
2. Lock the Battery cover.
3. Affix the mount plate to the wall. You can affix the mounting plate using two 20mm screws or double-sided tape.
4. Lock your Wireless Button on the mount plate.
5. Your installation is complete.
Add/Include your Doorbell to Z-Wave Network.
Getting your Doorbell up and running is as simple as plugging it into a wall socket and adding it to your existing Z-Wave network. The following instructions tell you how to add your Doorbell to your Z-Wave network using aZ-Stick or Minimote controller. If you are using other products as your main Z-Wave controller, such as a Z-Wave gateway, please refer to their respective manuals that tell you how to add new devices to your network.
Pairing your Doorbell Gen5 into your existing Z-Wave network.
1. Place your gateway or controller into Z-Wave pair or inclusion mode. (Please refer to your controller/gateway manual on how to do this)
2. Press the Action Button on your Doorbell Gen5, and its LED will blink rapidly to indicate that it is communicating.
3. If your Doorbell has been successfully linked to your network, its LED will become solid for 2 seconds, then stop. If linking was unsuccessful, the LED will blink when you tap its button.
If you’re using a Z-Stick:
1. Decide where you want your Doorbell to be placed and plug it into a wall outlet. Its Network LED will begin to blink. If your Z-Stick is plugged into a gateway or a computer, unplug it.
2. Take your Z-Stick to your Doorbell.
3. Press the Action Button on your Z-Stick. The LED on your Z-Stick should begin to blink slowly.
4. Press the Action Button on your Doorbell.
5. If your Doorbell has been successfully added to your Z-Wave network, its Network LED will no longer blink. If the adding was unsuccessful and the Network LED continues to blink, repeat the steps above.
6. Press the Action Button on the Z-Stick to take it out of inclusion mode.
If you’re using a Minimote:
1. Decide on where you want your Doorbell to be placed and plug it into a wall socket. Its Network LED will begin to blink.
2. Take your Minimote to your Doorbell.
3. Press the Include button on your Minimote.
4. Press the Action Button on your Doorbell.
5. If your Doorbell has been successfully added to your Z-Wave network, its Network LED will no longer blink. If the adding was unsuccessful and the Network LED continues to blink, repeat the steps above. 6. Press any button on your Minimote to take it out of inclusion mode.
With your Doorbell now working as a part of your smart home, you’ll be able to configure it from your home control software. Please refer to your software’s user guide for precise instructions on configuring your Doorbell to your needs.
You’re able to adjust your Doorbell’s ringtone volume manually by using the “Volume -“ or “Volume +” buttons. You can reduce its volume via short press on the “Volume -” button or increase the volume via short press on the “Volume +” button, at the same time the default doorbell music will be triggered to allow you to hear the volume change. If you want to change to the next ringtone, press and hold the Volume button, which will switch the current ringtone to the next one.
Removing your Doorbell from a Z-Wave network.
Your Doorbell can be removed from your Z-Wave network at any time. It is always advised that you use your gateway to perform an unpair in order to avoid leaving phantom / failed nodes that become difficult to remove. To do so, follow the steps below:
Unpairing your Siren Gen5 from your existing Z-Wave network.
1. Place your gateway or controller into Z-Wave unpair or exclusion mode. (Please refer to your controller/gateway manual on how to do this)
2. Press the Action Button on your Doorbell.
3. If your Doorbell has been successfully unlinked to your network, its LED will begin to blink slowly indicating it is ready to be paired to a new network..
If you’re using a Z-Stick:
If your Z-Stick is plugged into a gateway or a computer, unplug it.
Take your Z-Stick to your Doorbell.
Press and hold the Action Button on your Z-Stick for 2 seconds then let go. The LED should begin to
blink rapidly on your Z-Stick.
Press the Action Button on your Doorbell.
If your Doorbell has been successfully removed from your network, its Network LED will start to
blink. If the removal was unsuccessful, the Network LED will not blink.
Press the Action Button on the Z-Stick to take it out of removal mode.
If you’re using a Minimote:
1. Take your Minimote to your Doorbell.
2. Press the Remove Button on your Minimote.
3. Press the Action Button on your Doorbell.
4. If your Doorbell has been successfully removed from your network, its Network LED on your Doorbell will start to blink. If the removal was unsuccessful, the Network LED will not blink. 5. Press any button on your Minimote to take it out of removal mode.
Advanced functions.
Reset your Doorbell.
If your primary controller is missing or inoperable, you may wish to reset all of your Doorbell’s settings to their factory defaults. To do this, press and hold the Action Button for 20 seconds and then release it. Your Doorbell will now be reset to its original settings, and the Network LED will be solid for 2 seconds and then start slow blinking as a confirmation.
Low battery check for Wireless Button.
If you find the Red LED on the Doorbell is blinking when you press Wireless Button. You will need to replace the CR2450 battery with a new battery, as the Red LED indicates low battery power.
Manually adjust the volume of Doorbell.
To change the volume manually, by default you can short press / tap the + or - button on the main Doorbell unit.
Manually change the default sound of Doorbell.
You can manually change the default sound of your Doorbell, by default you would press and hold the + or - button on the main Doorbell unit until Doorbell plays the next sound (which indicates that the default sound has changed).
Alternatively, you can use the configuration settings (parameter settings) to set the default sound from the advanced configuration.
Pair the Wireless Button with your Doorbell.
This procedure should only be used when the complimentary Wireless Button is missing or inoperable and you have another new Wireless Button that would be paired with your Doorbell.
1. On the main Doorbell device, quick press Volume + and Volume - buttons together at the same time. If successful at setting Doorbell into pair mode, the LED should begin blink rapidly.
2. Place Wireless button on a flat surface and tap its button (make sure that the blue LED ring blinks once on your Wireless button). If Doorbell and your Wireless Button have paired successfully, Doorbells LED should stop blinking rapidly. Your Wireless button should now ring Doorbell
Note: When the Doorbell enters into pairing mode, it has a 8 seconds timeout for pairing, so you need to press the new Wireless Button once within the 8 seconds pairing timeout.
Download new ringtones to your Doorbell from your PC.
- Use the Micro USB cable to connect Doorbell to your PC. Your PC will detect the removable storage after a few seconds, and then you’ll find it in the “Device with Removable Storage” section.
- Double click the “Removable Disk (G:)” to open it.
- Now copy/drag the MP3 music from the PC hard disk to the Doorbell’s flash memory.
- Wait until you have finished copying the MP3 files.
Note:
1. Do not disconnect the USB port until copying has completed.
2. The transfer order of MP3 file in the process of copying is also the sequence that will play in Doorbell.
3. The new added MP3 files will be pushed back to the end of the list in the sequence it is played.
4. When an MP3 file is renamed in “Removable storage”, it will be moved to the end of the sequence list automatically.
Uses with other Gateways.
Vera UI7.
In Vera you can use LUUP or LUA coding to have different sensors trigger separate sounds, you can fully automate your Doorbell to determine what is going on in your home.

SmartThings Hub.
