First, you will need to download the Zensys tool which can be found here: https://aeotec.freshdesk.com/helpdesk/attachments/6091420613, in most cases you can use your current software with the Z-Stick Gen5/S2/Lite to configure your devices, but in the case that they do not allow this, you can use the instruction set below to use the Zensys tool for configuration.

1) Highlight the device that you want to configure

2) Select "Command Class" tab on the right side

Command Class = COMMAND_CLASS_CONFIGURATION_V1

Command Name = CONFIGURATION_SET

--- If you do not see any other command classes besides BASIC SET, then please follow these steps before continuing to step 3.

  • Highlight the Node that you want to configure
  • Then click on "Node Info" located at the toolbar towards the left (refer to the image)

  • If it is a battery device, you will need to wake up the sensor for Zensys to read the command class information
  • Now return to the beginning of Step 2 and set the command class and command name.

3) Reserved and Default can be ignored in this set.

In this example, I will be using Parameter 121 [4 byte] = 272

Parameter Number = 79 (which is 121 in decimals)

Size = 04

Configuration Value = 0110 (which is 272 in decimal)

[If you need to convert from Decimal to Hexidecimal, i suggest that you use the converter in this link: http://www.binaryhexconverter.com/decimal-to-hex-converter)

4) Click on Send when you are sure of your changes.

5) If using a battery device, the command will queue and wake for the battery device to wake up. Wake up your sensor or portable controller and it should take in the command.
