Ceiling fans are commonly an inductive load; Micro Dimmer and Micro Smart Dimmer have been designed to work with resistive loads only.
As such, the use of Micro Dimmer or Micro Smart Dimmer for ceiling fan control is not recommended. While some users have reported initial success, the difference between inductive loads and resistive loads will mean that either devices will eventually fail.
Aeotec Nano Dimmer has been designed to work with ceiling fans as powerful as 100 watts. If looking to control a ceiling fan, we recommend that you consider Nano Dimmer instead. For this case, please make sure that your fan load accepts adjustable voltage levels to set its speed.
