This page lists a method of use Radiator Thermostat with Door/ Windows Sensor 7 and forms a part of the larger Door / Windows Sensor 7 user guide.


With this solution, it is possible to set the heating to be switched off when the windows are open and on again when the windows are closed using Door / Window Sensor 7.


1. Pairing both devices in your Hub/Controller


1.1 Pairing Radiator Thermostat into your Z-Wave Network.

1.1.1. Start Inclusion/Pair/Add mode of your primary Z-Wave Controller.
1.1.2. Press the Boost-Button once on Radiator Thermostat. 

1.1.3. Aeotec Radiator Thermostat will show the assigned NodeID provided by the Z-Wave Controller.



1.1.4. If the inclusion failed, "ERR" will appear on the display and the LED will light red. If this happens, try factory resetting Radiator Thermostat and restart the steps for Z-Wave inclusion from step 1.

1.2 Adding your Door / Windows Sensor 7 to Z-Wave network.

1.2.1 Set your Z-Wave controller into pairing mode.

1.2.2 Triple-click the tamper switch on Door / Window Sensor 7 - the LED will blink up to five times

1.2.3 After completion of the inclusion, it lights up once before it goes out.

1.2.4 Close the cover

2. Change parameters 7 and 8 of Door/Window Sensor 7

Thermostat Basic Mode


2.1 Set Parameter 7 [1 byte] to Value 15 (0x0F) 


Parameter 7: Values of ON command frame sent to Group 2 Association.

The value of 0 turns OFF the device, 255 turns it On. In the case of associating the Dimmer or Roller Shutter module, values

2.2 Set Parameter 8 to Value 255 (0xFF)


Parameter 8: Value of OFF command frame sent to Group 2 Association.

2.3 Wake the Door Window Sensor 7 to accept the parameter setting changes.

3. Set Association Group

3.1 Associate the Radiator Thermostat with the Door/Windows Sensor 7 by connecting the Radiator Thermostat to association group 2 of the Door/Windows Sensor 7.


3.2 Wake the Door Window Sensor 7 to accept the settings.
