There are 2 ways to upgrade Doorbell/Siren 6 (1) with ZWaveJS or (2) with Windows.

Upgrade using ZWaveJS UI

  1. Download the firmware update files:

Warning: downloading and activating the wrong firmware will brick your Doorbell and render it broken. Bricking is not covered by warranty.

--EU OTZ file V1.09 firmware update

--US OTZ file V1.09 firmware update

  2. Unzip the .rar or .zip file, and locate the ".EXE" file which can be used as a binary file in ZWaveJS UI. (if its listed as .ex_, change it to .exe)
  3. Open up ZWaveJS UI
  4. Expand the Doorbell 6 or Siren 6 page
  5. Tap on Advanced
  6. Tap "BEGIN" under Firmware update

  7. Input these values:
    1. File = .OTZ file
    2. Target = 0
    3. Click on OK
  8. After the firmware update completes: If your Doorbell 6 is flashing slowly after the update, this indicates that it was factory reset after the firmware update was completed.

You can re-pair Doorbell/Siren 6 at this point, it is recommended that you use the Replace feature to pair it back if necessary to avoid losing any automations you may have had.
    1. Open ZWaveJS UI
    2. Tap More Options (3 line icon - bottom right)
    3. Select Manage Nodes
    4. Select Replace -> Next
    5. Then select the Node ID that you want to replace

To upgrade your Doorbell 6 using a Z-Stick or any other general Z-Wave USB Adapter on Windows (Series 300/500 only):

  1. If your Doorbell 6 is already part of a Z-Wave network, please remove it from that network. Your Doorbell 6 manual touches on this and your Z-Wave gateway's / hub's user manual will provide more specific information. (skip to step 3 if it is part of a Z-Stick already)

  2. Plug the Z‐Stick controller to the USB port of your PC host. If already connected, make sure to disconnect any software connected to the Z-Stick.

  3. Download the firmware that corresponds to the version of your Doorbell 6.
