Siren 6 has the capability to store 8 different default sounds/volumes which can be easily adjusted once Siren 6 has been added to Home Assistant with Z-Wave JS. Once you adjust the sound/volume of the individual saveable default settings, you can automate Siren or Doorbell 6 using any other connected device as a trigger in your automation.
These steps will give you a basic example of setting up an action with the Siren or Doorbell 6.
1. Open up the Automations page:
2. Program your Trigger
- ie. If Door Window Sensor changes to an open state.
3. Scroll down to "Actions"
4. Set "Action Type" to "Call Service"
5. Set "Service" to "siren.turn_on"
6. Next to "Target" select "+ Pick entity" and select a controllable Doorbell / Siren 6 entity. You'll have 8 entities that you can trigger as an action:
- Doorbell 6 = Browse sound (good for playing once)
- Doorbell 6 (2) = Tamper sound
- Doorbell 6 (3) = Button 1 sound
- Doorbell 6 (4) = Button 2 sound
- Doorbell 6 (5) = Button 3 sound
- Doorbell 6 (6) = Environment Sound
- Doorbell 6 (7) = Security sound
- Doorbell 6 (7) = Emergency Sound
7. Ignore everything else and click Save. Your ending page should look something like this:
8. You can manually trigger it if you want in the "Automation" page to determine if the Action trigger of your Siren or Doorbell 6 is the correct sound you want:
