We currently do not post the Home Energy Meter Gen5 firmware updates due to many factors that may determine if you can or cannot update. Using the wrong firmware update will either break the calibration of your Home Energy Meter Gen5 or brick it.
What you'll need to firmware update:
- Windows PC + Z-Wave Dongle
- Or a Z-Wave Controller that supports OTA Updates (OTZ binary files available)
You may also firmware update using Home Assistant if you have ZWaveJS2MQTT installed.

- How many clamps does your Home Energy Meter Gen5 have? (1, 2, or 3)?
- What is the current firmware version of your Home Energy Meter Gen5?
- What current size the clamps are (60A, 100A, or 200A)?
We will need these to determine the correct firmware version or to determine if you are able to firmware update your Home Energy Meter Gen5 without any issues.
