Connect Aeotec Pico Shutter

Various hubs have different processes to pair the Aeotec Pico Shutter, you can follow the steps below to pair your Pico Shutter to one of the various hubs this device has been tested and proven to work in.

Using any other Zigbee controller/hub.

a. Open your Zigbee Controller/Hub interface.

b. Set your hub into Zigbee connect/pair mode.

c. When prompted by your hub, tap the Action Button on Pico Shutter twice, the LED will flash rapidly while it attempts to connect.

Direct guides with specific hubs.

We have more specific guides for Home Assistant and SmartThings / Smart Home Hub which you can find in the links below:

Connection LED states of Aeotec Pico Shutter.

If the steps were followed correctly, the LED will change from a rapid flash to one of these LED states depending on success or failure.

  • Success: LED will have a solid light based on the state of the switch output (OFF = led off, ON = led on) light permanently when the device is switched on.

  • Fail: LED will return to fading in and out.

Identify External Switches for S1 and S2 terminals

If Pico Shutter is not properly controlling Pico Shutter, you can have Pico Shutter identify the type of external switch connected by using the Action Button located on the Pico Shutter directly.

Identify Button #1 (S1)
1. Tap the action button 3x times quickly - LED will flash rapidly to indicate success
2. Toggle the S1 connected switch once

3. Test S1 external switch once to see if it controls your Pico Shutter and motors properly.

Identify Button #2 (S2)
1. Tap the action button 4x times quickly - LED will flash rapidly to indicate success
2. Toggle the S2 connected switch once

3. Test S2 external switch once to see if it controls your Pico Shutter and motors properly.

Calibrate Aeotec Pico Shutter Open/Close Positions (Endpoint 1)

You can manually or automatically calibrate your Aeotec Pico Shutter open/close positions again does not get the full open or close calibration correctly.

Manually Calibrate Max Open/Close Positions:
1. Tap the S1 External Switch 6x times within 2 seconds.
2. When the calibration starts, press the S1 external switch button once when the roller shade moves to fully open (100%)
3. Press the S1 external switch button once more when the roller shade moves to fully closed (0%)

Automatically Calibrate Max Open/Close Positions:

1. Tap the S1 External Switch 6x times within 2 seconds.
2. When the calibration starts, it will automatically complete its calibration by opening and closing.

Calibrate Aeotec Pico Shutter Slat Fold (Endpoint 2)

You can manually calibrate your Aeotec Pico Shutter fold positions if your blinds support turning its blinds.

Manually Calibrate Max Fold:
1. Tap the S2 External Switch 6x times within 2 seconds.
2. When the calibration starts, press the S2 external switch button once when the slats start to fold to fully (180 degrees)
3. Press the S2 external switch button once more when the roller shade moves to fully closed (0 degrees)
