Download TriSensor 8.GBL firmware update
Before you update
Please make sure you download the correct Z-Wave Frequency and begin the update with the TriSensor 8 as close as 10ft / 3m distance to your hub to avoid any possible firmware update issues to avoid bricking your device.
It is highly recommended to run USB power when firmware updating this sensor.
Warning: Do not update with the wrong Z-Wave Frequency, it will change the Z-Wave frequency of the TriSensor 8 which would not allow the sensor to re-connect to the same controller.
Update with an existing Z-Wave hub
In order to use the GBL update files, your Z-Wave gateway must support OTA firmware update. If supported, follow the steps from your Z-Wave Gateway/hub/software to firmware update your TriSensor 8.
Update with ZWaveJS UI:
- Download the correct firmware update file above.
- Open ZWaveJS UI
- Expand TriSensor 8.
- Click on Advanced.
- Under Firmware update, click on "Begin"
- Under File, choose the .GBL firmware update file.
- Under Target, choose Target 0
- Then click on OK
- Now wake up TriSensor 8 by pressing and holding its action button for 3 seconds (LED will flash blue) then release.
- Allow the firmware update to complete.
Update using a Z-Wave USB Adapter
If your software does not support .GBL files yet, you can use PC Controller 5 (connected to any standard Z-Wave USB Adapter) by SiLabs to firmware update with GBL files. This software is a Windows exclusive.
You can find that PC Controller 5 here through Simplicity Studio: SiLabs Simplicity Studio
Following the update below, make sure that you have your TriSensor 8 at most 10ft from your Z-Wave USB Adapter during the update to avoid any failures.
