If you were able to pair the illumino Switch but found that you are not able to control the output of the load with the switch with the manual buttons (but are able to control the Switch with the Z-Wave hub), you may have your illumino Switch manual buttons disabled.

There are 2 ways to fix this to re-enable your buttons again to dimming control which both refer to this possible setting:

In or out of network

Action Button Press (Any Button/ Top / Bottom)

LED Indication

Function/Description if the button is held and released.

IN/OUT

4x tap Bottom Button

Blinks blue color LED based on value setting:

0 = solid 2 seconds

1 = blinks 1x quickly

2 = blinks 2x quickly

3 = blinks 3x quickly

(Parameter 121 [1 byte]) - Adjust paddle control of illumino Switch

Value definitions:

  • 0 = disabled
  • 1 = enable local control
  • 2 = enable central scene
  • 3 = enable local and central scene

Use Parameter settings from your Z-Wave Hub (Easiest):

Just set this parameter setting to re-enable manual button control. This will only work if your Z-Wave hub has access and control over "Configuration Command Class".

Parameter 121 [1 byte] = 3 (or 1)

Use the manual button presses to re-configure your illumino Switch.

Using this method can be done if your Z-Wave hub does not allow for other configurations through its software interface.

  1. 4x tap the Bottom paddle within 2 seconds.
  2. The LED should Blink blue depending on the setting. There are 2 LED indicators that you should watch out for to ensure the paddle buttons are enabled.
    1. Blinks blue once quickly which indicates paddle buttons are enabled for switch control, but button scene controls are disabled.
    2. Blinks blue 3x times quickly which indicates that both paddle buttons and button scene controls are enabled.

Locking your settings

The illumino Switch has the capability to lock all internal settings so that you don't accidentally configure it once you have it setup how you like. You can configure this using your Z-Wave Hub, or you can 11x tap the top or bottom button to lock it (or unlock it if you need to configure it later).

In or out of network

IN/OUT11x Tap (either button)Blinks purple color LED when activated.
(Parameter 252 [1 byte) - Sets a lock for external switch button configurations or parameter settings.
