Unpair/Factory reset sets below will work regardless if the device is a part of the SmartThings network or not.
RECOMMENDATION - SmartThings does not pair through repeaters, move the device within 10ft / 3m distance of your SmartThings hub and pair it at that distance. Once done, move it to its installation location afterward.
Unpair or factory reset Z-Wave devices:
- Open SmartThings app
- Select "Home Hub" or however you have named your hub such as "Home" in the list of devices
- Select the 3 vertical dot icon located at the top right corner
- Select Settings
- Select "Z-Wave Utilities"
- Select "Z-Wave exclusion"
- Tap the button on the Z-Wave Device when SmartThings states it is waiting to remove a device.
- NOTE - The steps may vary between every Z-Wave device. Some maybe require double, triple, 6x taps for instance.

- If successful, SmartThings should state it has removed a device.
Pair a new Z-Wave device
- Open SmartThings app
- Select "+" located at the top right corner (second icon from the right)
- Select "Add Device"
- At the bottom click on "Scan Nearby"
- When SmartThings is searching for a device (LED on Smart Home Hub should be blinking now), tap the button on Z-Wave Device to pair it.
