When paired with Aeotec Smart Home Hub and the SmartThings software that the hub uses, SmokeShield user guide will offer the following features:

  • Smoke Sensor
  • Battery

Install the Edge driver

Before you can get the full use out of your Smoke Shield, you must install the "Z-Wave Smoke Sensor" Edge driver before pairing your Smoke Shield. You can install it after pairing then change the driver manually alternatively. This step assumes that you have not yet paired the Smoke Shield to your network.

  1. Open this link to access the edge driver channel: https://callaway.smartthings.com/channels/7995fd48-c3d8-40f2-aaaf-45c4689c3a58
  2. (If channel not enrolled) Enroll the channel to the hub you are installing SmokeShield on.
  3. Click on "Available Drivers"
  4. Find "Z-Wave Smoke Alarm"
  5. Click on "Install" then give it 10 seconds.
    • Once installed, the SmokeShield should automatically use the custom edge driver "Z-Wave Smoke Alarm" when pairing the SmokeShield.
