It is possible to migrate your full Series 500 or Series 700 network to the Z-Stick 10 Pro using ZWaveJS UI. This guide will go over the steps with the assumption that ZWaveJS UI is already being used.

Requirements:

  • ZWaveJS UI
  • Z-Stick 10 Pro
  • Any series 500 or 700 Z-Wave USB adapter

Backup using ZWaveJS UI

You can backup any Z-Wave Series 500 or Z-Wave Series 700 network using ZWaveJS UI backup/restore tool. Follow these steps to create a backup of your network.

  1. Open ZWaveJS UI
  2. Click on the Blue 3 line button (Menu), then the Purple magic wand button (Advanced Options)
  3. Click on "BACKUP" under NVM Management
  4. Click on OK
  5. Wait 1 minute for the NVM backup to finish, once it has finished, a file will automatically be downloaded to your desktop usually as "NVM_<DATE><TIME>.bin" (For example: NVM_20250603174213.bin)
  6. Now change your ZWaveJS UI Z-Wave settings to your Z-Stick 10 Pro.

Ensure Z-Stick 10 Pro Z-Wave has been updated and configured

Make sure that your Z-Stick 10 Pro is running firmware V7.23.2 before you restore your network, the latest update resolves old bugs and issues related to migrating from an older network.

You can find the steps here to update your Z-Stick 10 Pro.

This guide uses PC Controller 5, but you can use ZWaveJS UI to perform the firmware update over your Z-Stick 10 Pro Z-Wave instead. All that is needed is the firmware update file found in the link above.

Restore using ZWaveJS UI

After updating Z-Stick 10 Pro to 7.23.2, a restore of the older Z-Wave network (Series 500/700) can be restored to the Z-Stick 10 Pro following the steps below:

  1. Click on the Blue 3 line button (Menu), then the Purple magic wand button (Advanced Options)

  2. Click on "RESTORE" under NVM Management
  3. Under File, select your NVM_<Date><TIME>.bin file, then click OK.
  4. Wait until the NVM Conversion/Restore process finishes (indicator at the top right)
  5. Give your network some time to update all information related to your network. Consider rebooting ZWaveJS UI after some time.

If you've followed the full steps from top to bottom, your full Z-Wave Network should be migrated and available for control.
